I often traveled to Singapore to see my friend and fellow Tufts English major, and while at her favorite local bar, I connected with the owner and visionary behind the multi-year ranked World's 50 Best Bars, Native. In the heart of Singapore's trendiest dining neighborhood by old Chinatown, Native has successfully carved out a unique identity amongst its competitors. Native seamlessly combines sustainably sourced local ingredients, in-house crafted fermentations and liquors, and traditional recipes to create modern and unexpected drinks and dishes.
Expanding into all the floors of an old three-story building, Native rebranded to add a different focus to its creations for each floor. The ground floor is the restaurant, the second floor is the main bar, and the third floor is affectionately called the "fermentation station" with all its custom brews. To capture this new layered identity, I designed a website that took the viewer on a journey through Native, inviting them in at every floor with an animated reveal.
Native is constantly evolving as new collaborations with local artisans, chefs, and farmers take shape, so the website focuses on the overarching ethos and structure of Native. When I am available to design their seasonal featured menus, I make sure to stop by when I am in Singapore and try all the new additions.

From the team behind Native came Analogue Initiative, a 100% plant-based, sustainability-focused bar. Analogue crafted a new drinking and dining experience in Singapore focused on sourcing ingredients that minimize their environmental impact. I connected with Native's owner ahead of Analogue's 2021 grand opening to create a website that captures its innovative vision.
I envisioned an informative and inviting website that combined the bold photography of their bar’s infrastructure and menu with a dynamic, modern aesthetic. I listened to Analogue’s team as they detailed the many signature pieces the bar had pioneered, from its 3D-printed bartop made entirely from recycled plastic bottles to the tabletops made from fungus mycelium.
Inspired by the large waves of the centerpiece bartop that repeated in the logo, I designed a website with a flowing motion from one element to the next. I pulled colors from the custom bar structures, uniform elements that sit above the coarse-textured background of the bartop.
Connecting with Analogue’s team from halfway around the world meant forging a partnership based on mutual creative passion. The care they had put into every surface, dish, and drink inspired me to showcase each element harmoniously in my design. I still visit Analogue and Native when I am in Singapore and try all their new menu additions. And while both bars primarily promote themselves on Instagram, they both reach 40K-50K site sessions annually.

BACKGROUND
During my time in Singapore, I connected with the team of Native, a locally reknowned bar as they were expanding to a second location. I designed the Analogue's website for the bar's grand opening and returned to redesign the Native's website and visuals.
